The house was uninhabitable. We renovated during Covid and lived in a caravan on site. Over the next 4 years we have renovated bit by bit. We are incredibly sad to be leaving our home.

A veritable surprise awaits,

...get ready to fall in love!

OVERVIEW

This exquisite stone residence has undergone a comprehensive renovation, including updated electrical and plumbing systems, double glazing, and a revised roof, all executed to the highest standards. The home seamlessly blends modern comfort and style with the authentic charm and character of its historic origins.

Nestled in a quiet, private corner of the historic village of Saint-Siffret, one of the region’s most sought-after villages, it lies just 4 km from the exceptional medieval town of Uzès.

Step inside to discover polished concrete floors, abundant natural light, soaring ceilings, and feature stone walls, alongside expansive entertaining spaces. Picture windows frame stunning vistas from every room, while the ever-changing landscape of the valley and distant Mont Bouquet provides a constantly captivating backdrop.

Privacy, security, and location are paramount. Situated in a coveted location at the end of a no-through road and enclosed by high stone walls, the Mas benefits from naturally sloped terrain that delivers inherent security and rare street access to both floors.

Scenic walking trails begin at the front door, while essential amenities—including supermarkets, award-winning bi-weekly markets, schools, cinemas, boutiques, restaurants, and major transport hubs—are all within easy reach, and Paris only four hours away by train.

We just love how the designer modernised the home while retaining the unique charm and character of the original home.

And we never  tire of those breathtaking sunsets with no two ever the same.

KITCHEN

The gourmet kitchen, a culinary enthusiast's dream, beckons with state-of-the-art appliances and stylish finishes, making even cleaning up a pleasure! Featuring professional grade, German made, NEFF appliances, including twin wall-mounted ovens (one steam, both with ‘Slide & Hide’ doors), a very large and adaptable induction cooktop, and an additional separate gas hob. A sleek, integrated downdraft range hood glides away when not in use, maintaining the streamlined look of the living space. A Miele dishwasher, double sink with an extra-large 105 cm capacity, clever and abundant storage, and numerous power outlets and USB ports complete the very functional work area. At the heart of the kitchen is a grand central island, harmoniously connecting the surrounding zones. This versatile centerpiece serves as the ultimate canvas for informal meals, buffet-style entertaining, or additional workspace. The true heart of this home.

BEDROOMS

Currently configured as three spacious double bedrooms plus 'bedzanine', this home offers the flexibility to create a fourth double bedroom, resulting in up to five well-defined sleeping areas. The two bedrooms on the entrance level are bathed in natural light and feature striking high beamed ceilings, each enjoying picturesque views over the village clock tower and historic rooftops. On this side of the home, fragrant roses, jasmine, and a mature linden tree provide a peaceful, scented setting throughout the summer months. The principal suite with private en-suite bathroom, discreetly located on the lower level, offers exceptional tranquillity and year-round comfort. With direct access to the garden, it forms a private retreat where mornings begin gently to the soothing sounds of the surrounding nature.

BATHROOMS

The spacious principal bathroom, situated on the upper level, serves the main living area and two bedrooms with elegance and practicality. Fully tiled in travertine, the space is both functional and filled with natural light. Modern dual basins and generous storage are complemented by striking black and stone accents, while the true showpiece is the beautifully restored, centuries-old salvaged wooden door, combining historic charm with contemporary functionality. The lower-level bathroom offers a refined and perfectly proportioned en-suite, complete with a shower, WC, and a contemporary black-and-white design. Conveniently positioned adjacent to the sleeping area, it provides both comfort and privacy. A third full shower room is thoughtfully situated next to the atelier/studio in the garden. Featuring a WC, shower, basin, and ample storage, this space is ideally located for garden entertaining and will also serve a future pool, combining practicality with understated elegance.

STUDIO / ATELIER

Rumour has it that this home was once the ancient quarry for the village, evidence of which is showcased in this large 27 m² functional space, currently used as an artist’s studio. Your creativity will be inspired in this unique environment. Flanked on one side by a fully exposed rock wall and framed on the other by an oversized arched door, ample natural light floods the room. With direct access to a small vaulted garage and the large cellars, the space offers a highly versatile floor plan. Direct access to the garden makes it ideal for welcoming clients or facilitating the delivery of materials for your artistic endeavours. With the third bathroom located just outside, this space could potentially be transformed into a studio apartment for tourism opportunities, or simply converted into a second casual living area or apartment for family and friends.

OTHER SPACES

Rounding out the features of this exceptional home is a creatively designed office, centrally located to capture views of the neighbouring château and rolling distant hills. Thoughtful integrated storage provides ample space for stationery, files, and a linen press, combining functionality with elegance. At the base of the staircase lies the spacious, light-filled second lounge, a versatile area perfect for a home gym or, with the addition of a partition, a further bedroom. Bathed in morning sunlight and with direct access to the garden, this room offers both comfort and flexibility. Accessed via the studio, the cellar features two generously sized rooms separated by an ancient stone wall, offering substantial storage. The second space has been transformed into a home cinema, taking full advantage of the vaulted ceilings and original flagstone flooring. Power and a projection ledge are already in place, ready for immediate use. Completing the practical amenities of the home is a separate laundry, ensuring effortless day-to-day functionality without compromising the elegance and flow of the property.

We love all the activities and festivals in this region, there is always so much going on. And the neighbours are really lovely too. We love that we are in the middle of the village but we have no through traffic, so its always so peaceful and private.

EXTERIOR

A rare standalone jewel in the heart of the village. Completely private yet exceptionally central, this extraordinary residence sits at the end of a quiet street with no through traffic and no adjoining walls—an exceptionally rare opportunity in a French village. High stone walls provide absolute privacy and security, while the sloped plot allows direct street access to both the garden and upper levels of the home whilst framing the sweeping panoramic views. The garden is cleverly divided, combining practical parking and storage with a leisure area rich with fruit trees and space to add a pool or relax amid the surroundings. Effortless to maintain, it is a haven for birds and seasonal harvests of quince, apricots, figs, and roses, offering a home that is both elegant and entirely inviting.
